Growing native plants in your backyardAre you thinking about growing native plants for your home or business? That's a great idea! And we're here to help. These flyers can help you decide what native plants are best suited for your area. Just click on one of the maps to download it. Print it out. Go to one of the nurseries listed to pick out your plants. There's even a coupon for discounts at select nurseries. We recommend Ho'olawa Farms in Haiku - they are very knowledgeable and specialize only in native Hawaiian plants. Another useful site for planting a native Hawaiian Garden is this on-line handbook provided by the State of Hawaii Office of Environmental Quality Control. Pick a Climate ZoneEach flyer introduces six native plants that would grow well in its specific climate zone. It includes two plants you should never grow in your garden, as they are noxious weeds (meaning, they are a threat to Maui's native plant communities).
