Malama
Wao Akua 'o Maui Hikina
Juried Art Exhibition 2009
A celebration of Maui's native wildlife
For this year's native species art show, 119 pieces from local Maui artists were entered and 49 pieces were selected by jurors Abigail Romanchak and Jordan Jokiel. EMWP is grateful to the community for their support of this project - the artists who hiked and did research to create an original piece, the folks at Viewpoints Gallery who have given generously their time and expertise, the teachers and students who studied the native flora and fauna, the businesses and organizations who donated printing and prizes and of course, mahalo to everyone who came to see the show. We hope you enjoyed the artwork!
For more information or to purchase artwork, please contact Viewpoints Gallery at 808-572-5979. A portion of all sales from this exhibition will go towards protecting the native rainforests of windward Haleakala.
